Gemini Dance Studio, usually referred to as Gemini or The Geminis, are the reigning Absolute Dance International champions and are therefore currently considered the best studio in the world.[1]
History
Season 4
Gemini Dance Studio is a dance studio that seemingly materializes out of nowhere, having never been seen at any previous competitions.[2] Nevertheless, they prove to be serious contenders.
Gemini wins the first qualifier for the 18th Annual Absolute Dance Regionals with a score of 97 points.[2] Despite this being an easy route to Regionals, the team decides to forego this win to compete in the second qualifier so they can take a dancer from another team. While they also win this qualifier, it is assumed that they ultimately do not poach another dancer.[3]
After effortlessly winning every other round of the competition, Gemini defeats The Next Step Dance Studio in the finals at Regionals, replacing them as the new Regional champions.[4]
The Off Season: Season 1
Gemini goes on to win both Nationals and Internationals,[1] automatically letting them attend the next upcoming Regionals without any kind of qualifier.[5] With their Internationals win, it is implied that Gemini are in the position of never having lost to another studio.
Season 5
After being demoted to B-Troupe at The Next Step Dance Studio,[6] Skylar joins Gemini and quickly becomes dance captain there.[5] Amy also briefly joins Gemini after a successful audition, but is so unhappy there that she returns to The Next Step.[7]
Season 6
Having automatically qualified for the 19th Annual Regionals, Gemini presumably competes in the Intermediate Advanced Division, as they are not part of the lineup at the Senior Advanced competition.[8]
Dance Captain Diary
During Richelle's search for the Dance Captain Diary after her appointment as the new Dance Captain of A-Troupe, Kenzie discovers that Skylar has the dance captain diary and Skylar reveals that she brought the diary with her to Gemini Dance Studio. She does not specify how the studio is doing, but implies that she is still the dance captain and is a member of the studio.[9]
Description
Gemini is made up of talented dancers of polarizing dance backgrounds; while there are members who are solely ballet dancers, most of the other dancers are well-versed in hip-hop and breakdance. Interestingly, the initial ten team members are five sets of twins, likely meant as a reference to Gemini being the "sign of the twins" in astrology.[10]
Except for a pair of conceited twins, the Gemini dancers appear to be generally polite and well-natured, always shaking hands with the dancers they defeat. However, their interactions with The Next Step Dance Studio, specifically Riley and Alfie, make them appear arrogant and full-of-themselves.
The studio has created some kind of rivalry with The Next Step Dance Studio. Shown when they are willing to risk Regionals qualification to steal Alfie. However, it is likely that this is more a competitive nature towards The Next Step is due to, at the time, their status as reigning Internationals champions.

Uniform
At Regionals, Gemini's dancers wear identical white jackets with a black windowpane checked pattern. The jackets have Gemini's logo on the left breast and "Gemini" emblazoned across the back.
Trivia
- Astrologically-speaking, "Gemini" is the "sign of twins",[11] and Gemini's members initially consist almost solely of twins. However, this policy appears to change after Skylar becomes dance captain[10] and Amy briefly joins the studio.[7]
