"Pilot" is the unaired first episode of The Next Step that was sent to Family Channel for the show to be picked up. It is highly unlikely, due to legal reasons, that the pilot will be shown to the public.
History
In order for The Next Step to be "green-lighted" by Family Channel, the pilot was created to give them an idea of what the show would be like.
Differences
Since the pilot was filmed before Season 1 was, there are notable differences between it and the main show:
- Since songs for the show were not yet created, the show's theme song was "Jump" by Madonna.[1]
- Logan Fabbro portrays Emily.[2]
- Eldon wears braces.[3]
- James has a crush on Michelle.[4]
- The primary location is Miss Amy's School of Dance.[5]
- Chloe and Tiffany are portrayed by different actresses.[6][7]
- The characters of Giselle, West, Kate, and Chris are not featured in the Pilot.[6]
