Richelle purchases a new pair of pointe shoes before the dance season leading up to the 19th annual Regionals competition.
The shank of one of the pointe shoes is eventually broken by Lola,[1] but is mended by Richelle with duct tape.[2]
History[]
Richelle purchases her pointe shoes at her favourite pointe shoe shop after trying on multiple pairs.[3] After receiving a pointe solo in the Regionals qualifier video, Richelle begins to break in her shoes for the video amidst a hip injury.[1]
Due to Richelle's refusal to opt out of the video despite her injury, Lola secretly breaks the shank of one of the shoes, only for Richelle's safety, ultimately making it impossible to dance with.[1] Richelle initially believes Zara the culprit for her broken shank, but discovers it to be Lola. While initially opting not to dance with her shoe at all, with Daniel's advisory, Richelle reinforces the shank with duct tape and dances with it. She ends up injuring herself badly and has to go to the hospital.[2]
Description[]
At the time of purchase, the pointe shoes are cream in colour. Although, when seen thereafter, they are purple. While unlikely, it is possible that this is an indication of two different pairs of shoes. However, it is possible that the fabric was dyed purple.
Another possibility is that Richelle purchased the purple pointe shoes at the same time as the cream pair, but the purchase was never seen on-screen.
